Preface

Since the publication of my book "Wing Tsun Kuen" in 1978, I began writing books on other martial art styles. Throughout these years, the book has been reprinted for several times with revisions in its contents, and has now come into its seventh edition.
All the time enthusiastic readers as well as my agents kept asking me whether I had the intention of writing another book on Wing Tsun Kungfu. What I was thinking was that if I could not choose a special topic or get enough source in materials, I would rather drop the idea of writing it. Besides, the voluminous "Wing Tsun Kuen" has already presented to the readers a systematic and substantial exposition of the art of Wing Tsun Kungfu, and thus I do not have the idea of writing a second book on Wing Tsun.
However, I began changing my mind when I was giving tuition to a class of Yugoslavian students, who were planning to organize a tournament of full-contact Wing Tsun Kungfu. While conducting this class, I was also writing some teaching notes for their instructors. Later I mentioned these notes to some other headstudents of mine in certain foreign countries. They immediately showed their interest and concern in these notes, and asked me to print some of them for use of teaching in their gymnasiums. That gave me the idea of writing a second book on Wing Tsun, not for those who have already obtained knowledge of Wing Tsun, but for readers who are just interested in reading it. I decide to give it the title "Dynamic Wing Tsun Kungfu".
To enable readers to acquire knowledge of Wing Tsun Kungfu step by step, I write the book according to courses of instructions. Though there are only thirty-six chapters in this book, individual chapters in it include comprehensive programmes of training. For beginners, some of these programmes will take more than a week to complete if an individual trainee undergoes training two hours to three hours per day for five days a week.
Nevertheless, any student will be able to get progress in this fighting techniques within Six Months to the most if he follows the steps as shown in the book and learn with patience. It is the sincere hope of me and my co-authors that readers of this book can get their best help from it.
